On January 21, 2024, the Baowu Steel Slag Carbon Sequestration Demo Device developed by SANTACC for Baowu Steel Group was shipped to the site; this device adopts an advanced new carbon mineralization CCUS technology, which captures, absorbs, and reuses the CO2 in the flue gas emitted by iron and steel enterprises, and reduces the CO2 emission in industrial off-gas by the method of “Renewable Resource + CO2”.
The technology surpasses traditional treatment methods such as amine scrubbing, membrane separation, and pressure swing adsorption, with the advantage that the CO2 in the flue gas does not need to be purified before sealing and treating, and can be directly treated at low concentrations. This low-energy, low-cost carbon reduction technology can effectively promote carbon reduction in the iron and steel industry and help the country reach the 2060 carbon neutrality goal!
