Slug Catcher

The equipment is used to capture the liquid plug flowing from the multi-phase flow pipeline, and to separate the gas and liquid, to provide buffer volume for the fluctuation of incoming liquid volume, and to provide stable gas and liquid flow for the downstream processing equipment. Meanwhile, it can effectively mitigate the impact of gas and liquid on the downstream equipment, and ensure the separation and accurate metering oil and gas.

Type: According to the structure, it can be classified as container type and tube type.

Application: offshore platform and onshore pipeline terminals.

The structure of container Catcher is similar to that of separate buffer tank.It covers a small area and is often installed on ocean platforms, mainly used in oil and gas mixed transportation pipeline, which can effectively eliminate the bubbles on the surface of crude oil and reduce the viscosity of crude oil for heating preservation.

The tubular Catcher is composed of several inclined tubes in parallel. Each tube is composed of separate sections and storage sections with different slopes. The separation section is used for gas-liquid separation, and the storage section is used for liquid flow buffer.It is large in size and can be used to accept the amount of liquid produced by pigging.
